TM: I double checked the one at the hardware store this morning, turns out it is a much larger one then the one on the Net, Net 13mm Key'd chuck 350watt, one at the hardware store 500watt 16mm Keyless chuck... So I ended up getting the one from the hardware store, Only after taking it to the register did I find out it came with a 20% discount so insted of 207 it was 165 ... SCORE!! and I didn't have to wait a week for del, lucky cause I nearly bought the other one last night from the web...

Kudzu: I didn't know that method, I have extremely limited knowledge of power tools, but intend to fix that over the next few months, have access to all your basic stuff here drop saw, jig saw, circular saws, DRILL PRESS :D and the father inlaw is a master with the tools, not the most accurate man in the world, but knows the tricks, so with my need for accuracy and his knowledge I should turn out some nice stuff If I just remember to ask before I cut lol Oh and yes it is a Keyless chuck

The instructions showed using a soft hammer to smack the Chuck in place ? is this right, I give it a couple of "LITTLE" taps but I'm not 100% how do I know if it is on right ?

Does it have a bolt in the center of the chuck to hold it tight after it's set in place ?
Usually on thing's like that you can measure the depth of the shoulder on the chuck / then measure the spindle and mark it with a permanent marker or whiteout , just to make sure it's fully seated ...
You want your chuck square as you can get it to start , relative to the table , also inline with the spindle .

I still think the only dumb questions are the one's you didn't ask ...

Hi Kultus
Yes use a soft hammer(brass or copper)or a block of wood and nomal hammer.hey dont need a big hit,as they are taper locks. If it falls out -just hit it back in again.
The reason for the soft hammer is so you dont bur the edge where the fingers for the chuck come out to hold the drill bit

swim at 90 degrees to the current and gain speed in two directions

Cheers TM, I did exactly that, not hard at all, as I was a little frightened of my new toy breaking, but it's on there nice and snug, I cannot pull it back off, so fingers crossed I've done it right.
