Despite the young fellows strong accent, the video is a real condensed, get-to-it breakdown of how to balance the royer circuit and get it running in resonance. The Royer circuit is one of my favorite I have been playing with it for quite a while... though have not got to where I want to show my stuff, yet... still a little rough.

The beauty of the royer is it's pure sine wave.
It's input is choked by L1 in his video.

Nice find Kyle

I also like the Royer oscillator design , once you get the right value of inductane for the choke and drive coils its an absolute winner.

@Ron_O

A bit early to tell, but, last night I calculated Resonance, hit it, and it seems like it is more efficient than Joule Ringers / Thieves / Blocking Oscillators.

I have to dig up an article, that talks about talking a given core, winding 100 winds on it, measuring the Henries, then using that to calculate the ?? (Al or something??) of the core, then, you're able to set it to whatever Micro or millihenries you want, and thus design the inductor from recycled stuff, to your own specs.

Cheers

Hi Kyle

I would agree on eff'ncy of Royer circuits. From memory suggest you look at Amidon tech pages ( Al is the "inductance index measured/expressed as :- millihenries per 1000 turns )
