I've been dreaming about this unit for a while now and with several conversations with the supplier (over the past 2 yrs), he gave me a deal!
Really like this guy!

400watt/500w max
Controller is included
3 phase AC
5 blade

Just what the Olddawg wanted!

It's perch will the the garage (were I had the small unit before).

I'm debating the set-out.
Doug, you've been here, done this, what do you think?

It will be here Friday and will see just what the wiring truly is.

Hi ODR

How big of a bank are you going to have?? I charge straight into my #1 bank and with three units They never get close to charging them up. So NO I have never used all that equipment on a wind gen. The #1 bank is 3550 AH and you can pump 50 amps all Day and night and never get close to a full charge.. LOL

@49'er that's a nice sized bank! I'm jealous. How much of that came to be from your rejuvenating efforts?

For immediate running, just the 100ah is going out there.
Right now, I'm only drawing 116 watts for lighting out there.
The 100ah gives me room to grow with more lighting.

If all goes as I hope and the Gennie spills power to the dump side, then, I'll look seriously at a grid-tie and add it.

The real hope is to get my UPS batteries out there (400ah total) and do room over the garage.

Getting ahead of myself here.
One step at a time.
But, I have a dream.

Hi ODR

Your 100 AH battery is only good at a C20 rate of 5 AMPs per hour and your 116 watt lights = out to 9.66 amps per hour. That is a C10 rate so your full charged battery would be flat in 10 hrs BUT that is a new one and yours is not and to keep it from being hurt run a car head light on it and time it. The head light is 5 amps which is the C20 rate for your battery and should run 20 hrs. We know it won't so this will tell you how long it will run but not below 12.0 volts, that is the cut off point under power if you want it to last 10 years.

With all 3 units, I have to ask, what's your total rated output from them.
That big of a bank I figure takes one Huge wind gennie (or combination there of)...

Isn't it at least 2.1kw of wind power to get close to charging that bank??

Have me very curious here as what you have flying on this bank.

Hi ODR

I know the 2 small ones are 700 watts and the big one I am just guessing at 1000 watts but that is at max wind and that doesn't happen as you will soon learn... LOL enjoy it
