This is made with 14 strands of 23 awg 125' letz(twisted), base resistors 47 ohm 1/2 watt, pot 1000 ohm 10 turns 2 watt, trigger resistor 100 ohms 2 watt, transistors 2n3055, diodes (power)1n5408,diode(B-E) 1n4001, NO NEON NEEDED. This can be made with 18 awg wire. As is this will charge a battery 125 Deep Cycle. The 18 awg version will charge Golf Cart Batteries (pair). This in the 23 ga can be dialed back to charge down to a 10 ah motor cycle battery. This can be wound on one coil or more example is my 42T it has 3 coils and a board(4) coils so any thing is possible.

Hi 49er. Many thanks for posting this. I think I may have enough wire for a five circuit. Lots to do tomorrow but maybe I can at least get the coil laid out and twisted.

Hi 49er. Its 508ft. of 26guage that was formerly a deguass out of an old monitor. I checked my other wire and didn't have enough to do anything but maybe a 3 circuit. Is the 3 sizes up or down limit still apply with SS? I want to wind a trigger from some other wire to take advantage of maximum circuits. Form factor will probably be an oval but I do have some of rick's spools. I guess I can wind on one of them.

Hi fan

Use the smaller wire for the trigger Yes. The spools or form is up to you as you see the 10T is a flat piece of plexa glass so any thing would be fine but the length should be the same. I just looked up 26awg and it is only rated at .250 amps per strand max so 3 strands would give you 3/4 amp and 4 strands would give you 1amp but that is max. If you go 4 strands we will have to watch the base resistors so that the coil doesn't get hot if round O well you get the idea don't push it until you test. 502 / 4= 125' that is what I use with 23ga so don't push and I think you will be just fine. How big a battery are you going to charge with this??

Hi 49er. I went hunting for some more wore and scored three more degauss coils all three the same size as the other wire. Two coils at 254 ft. each one coil 237.5 ft. I guess my unit just got bigger. So it looks like 4 more circuits and a trigger. Thats eight plus the trigger. I found a nice big piece of plexi and was thinking of going oval on the plexi like yours. What are the dimensions of the plexi and the hole sizes (if you don't mind a copy cat) ? I may have to wind the coil tomorrow after church. My son has signup for baseball and the wife is wanting to head to town for an early dinner. Glad I went looking for wire as I wanted to build bigger.

I hope it will charge t105s but I would be quite happy with it being a real strong car battery charger. Even if it is not all that stout I can still use another charger or two. I have batteries waiting for the bike wheel and that would take a load off of it.

Hi fan

The plex is 4"W X 8"L X .210"T but that can be what ever you have. The 2 wire holes are 1.250" dia and the transistor holes are .142 dia. It will look like the 5T plate or you going to make it longer like the back of the 42T where its is 12T long?? The 5 would be my suggestion because you can just keep adding to with multiple plates of 5 and then you can put it together like the 10T is that works very well and cheep and can be enlarged very easy any time you find any more TV's. Like I said .250 max per T but they do add up. Do you need a pic of the plate?

Hi 49er. I looked up the plexi piece in the other area. Thanks for posting the dimensions. I think I will go for the 5t plate. Probably will start with five then. I can expand it like yours to ten when I come up with more wire. I really want to build a #18 size in the future. This will get me on that road. Hope I have something to show tomorrow night later on. Going to RS to get some 47 ohm resistors. I needed some for the 3PM anyway. The 100s I put on it after the stock transistors blew were to make darn sure the 2n3055s lasted. Now I really need them lower .

thanks for the help.

Hi fan

Good luck, my RS is close to Mich state campus and if it is cool they have it but I almost have more items than they do LOL for the experimenter.

Thanks. I didn't get to build today. The good news is I opened the last of my monitor stash. Now I can build a full 10circuits. Hope I can get started tomorrow. My plan is to cut the plexi. And prepare it before I twist the coil. Is there any constriction tips that you can think of that may help?

One more thing. Should I be posting here or would you prefer I start a thread?

Hi 49er, I am interested in building this circuit but the picture of the circuit has moved. Is it in another section? Thanks for posting all this interesting work for everyone to study and learn!! Thanks again, Gralin
