That time of year again to do the full inspection and clean/replace any connections, check water and give them a run on the SSG.

First how often do 'you' do this?

Second: I always get one battery that the terminals seem to corrode more.
Sign of the weakest battery?

I'm going to list these as we go.
See if 'we' can build a good check list.

So, if I see corrosion building on the terminal, it will be a sign of running the SSG to revive that battery.
Correct?

How often do you run the SSG on the bank?
Even if it doesn't show the sign?
Should we or wait?

I use vasline on all terminals. End of problem check every year and apply where needed.
Voltage of eack battery in a bank should be with in .1 volt of each other at rest for 8 hrs NO USE
another way is under a load should be the same voltage, lowest is probly the one that needs help??? if all were the same at start if used anything is good.

Connectors between batteries.

I use the basic battery connectors and connect with 10g wire.
Should I be using something better?

Battery or usage?

Batteries are Werker 205ah, chart rates them at 10a (C20) and have 2 good ones right now.

Since I only run lighting & and charges right now off them, I'm drawing about 1.5 - 2amps

I found the rating on the batteries to be optimistic.
Never could get tooling to run for any period of time.
Maybe I just haven't understood completely, but I now believe watts is watts.
Meaning, if my battery can create 120watts (12v x 10a), then converting to AC power I still only have 120watts. Now it's 1a of power (120w / 120v).
This thought falls inline with I saw for duration of the tooling.
(Tooling meaning, skill saw, table saw, drill press, sanders, etc)
