Hi all
I was thinking about swapping from battery to capacitors to run my motor.
Ultracaps are pretty expensive here in europe, so I found these supercaps.

Now i have thought these would be nice, ( i need myself a birthday present)

Ok, its 7 x 2,5 volts, but i think i could replace the battery with it...
Or do you think it would blow my cricuit???

My idea was 2 of those with a battery swapping circuit...
(maybe the idea is bad.. or isnt it after all?)

I would try a breakers yard before paying that amount for them.
They come from old busses too.
I think it was Lazersaber that paid $6 each.

Found it...

I'm going to suggest this thread
You must be logged in to see this link.

There's a lot of information there.
This would be a good addition to what has been covered and in a single place to look.
A great resource for all of us.

thanx olddawgsrule !
that thread is overwhelming...
increadible information there!!!

Answered over 50% of my questions.

@irishdave
Yes i had seen that video. it is great.
but
i do consider buying one of these... ( i passed the age of going to scrapyards and it would take me days building the device - days i could make more than 160$ jobwise)

-----

If my calcs (taken from the other thread) are correct, that device could power my motor for 50 minutes (about 500ma consumption at 12 volts). still have to see how long it will take to charge...

I still have a few questions (mainly security and loading - like: do i need a loading limiter like windgenerators have, etc) i think i will post them in that other thread so we keep things grouped and better overview)
i will write the open questions together first.

Luc
