Hi SD3T

The hook up wire will be in a pvc conduit about 4 to 6" below the ground and it will go from the basement to the panels.

Hey 49er
I like the video. Because the south side of my house is only about 40' from another I have limited exposure, only room for 1 panel. Do you think that will be enough to keep my 3 12v batterys up. Im almost ready to add a 4th. Right now I can run 2-2X4'shop lights about 6hrs (2-3 evenings then Im in the dark).

Hi msm

what size area to you have because you can add vertical. My panels are 32"X38" 120 watts so you could go in the up space and not take up much more room. AS far as the batteries each panel will give you 6.6 amps in direct sun per hour so yes it will help very much. By going vertically with 1 4x4 and attached at the top you could get 2 or 3 in the same space.

As 49'er said it can be done, and does get done, but I might add.. do it well! Going vertical can add a lot of "sail" effect, so make sure you have good strong (and as low angle as feasible) strut supports. Wind is amazing at ripping things and sending them flying!

Hi msm & kc

kc is right wind is brutal on sails. The ones you see in my pics have both seen 105 mph winds so this design is good, but don't be cheep with the materials

Thanks Guys
Not enough yard to mount on the ground there, I think If I go up higher on the house above the satellite dish and put a extreme angle on it I might get 2 of them up there. Time for a little more research.
