Hello,

Speaking with some folks at the yacht club. One person had seen this wind turbine that will change to a hydro driven generator when the vessel is moving...

Hey hkalan
I like it, duel purpose and you can stow it away.
Now that's a hell of an idea, a bass boat electric trolling motor converted to a generator. You wouldn't need extra batterys.

I agree

What a brilliant concept, but I wished they had a listed price... I sent them an email to get a price... I will let you know when they replay.

Hi HK

That looks real good but will wonder about the seal. Salt water gets into any thing. LOL but it looks like a winner

Hello

The actual generator is at the bottom where it will will go from horizontal to vertical, so the seals should be standard to keep water out like a normal turbine would.

After every voyage the vessel is normally washed down with fresh water (not sea water) at the marina. That will keep the salt off the generator seals.

It looks like a good piece of equipment , but at that price you can see why over here we call it "rip off" Britain.

Hello,

Here is a reply from the Australia dealer...

Hello Alan,

Thanks for your inquiry. The Duo Gen is very effective as a wind and water
generator when sailing or at anchor. As the Duo Gen has its own tower and
brackets it does not require a tower to be built as is the case with normal
wind generators. In addition to the performance, the thing most owners like
is that you can hardly hear the units even in strong winds.

In addition to the Duo Gen, a charge regulator is required.

Prices excluding GST, ex our Brisbane store are as follows:
Duo Gen 1.3m tower $4,371.00
Duo Gen 1.6m long tower $4,497.00
Duo Gen 1.85m extra long tower $4,638.00
TB12 Regulator 12V $ 451.00

If you intend to ship to Hong Kong and require a price ex works UK excluding
freight to Australia and Australian duty, please let me know. We could also
obtain a freight price to Hong Kong.

Regards,

I agree... I am not sure they realize that people are always looking at the return on the investment of renewable energy products... You could get a few solar panels with the price of one DuoGen !!!! LOL

Good morning

I put the numbers together... I am able to buy 3Kw of solar panels, plus two 500w horizontal wind turbines for less then the price of one DuoGen. (excluding shipping)

I would say they will not be a popular with that to compare to !!!! LOL

Like how they were giving their stats in amp instead of watts. There is a sucker at each corner and the brittish seem to know how to harvest that factor well..... at least that was my experience in London......
