Yes or No

would be interesting for 2 reasons:

1. help
help people chose printer, help people use the software, draw their own models

2. share models with others..
if i design a rotor i can post it here for others to print out...

so from me its a yes...

BUT if I am alone (or lets say if we are only 3..)
there is no point because posting and describing a print in a forum is much more work than sharing with 1 or 2 friends...
then its a NO

Hi Luc

Good thoughts. I know that at least 3 on the forum has them but how many more is the question. Me I am still in 2D but need a 3D and was going to get one but still researching the right one for the money. We will see where this goes.

well my experience is the following..

unless you need a very specific printer for a specific project (example: you want to print with metal filament or nylon)

get yourself a very cheap one..

Example: I got myself a Flashforge Finder for under $500, but I have seen other brands for unter $400.

You will have to learn how to draw 3D models, that will take days.. and you will have to find a software you are comfortable with...
So at the beginning you wont print very much.. but try to design stuff.

after a couple of weeks you will be able to draw your own models, print them and you will get to know the limits of that printer.

With your experience growing you will learn to know your needs. and only then you will be able to make a good printer choice and get yourself a printer you need...

I for example found a buyer for my flashforge finder for $300. i will now to get a printer that can use different nozzles and also print nylon and wood. and that has a better resolution than the finder.. a heatable bed etc...

I am thinking of FF creator pro.. that is about $1000 (minus the 300 i get from selling the other one)

So for me the important is:
quote:

get a cheap one first...

learn and see what you need..

sell the cheap one..

buy what you need.

Thats my 10cents..

Luc
