This is the best that I have found to make a self runner form.

Hi Doug

Thanks for sharing , i had seen Hero's Fountain demo many years ago but i had never seen the "perpetual" version.
I would suspect a few problems might exist if it were scaled up ( pressure leakage and air being introduced into the system via the liquid... that's why the liquid used in the demo was quite viscus )
The other devices on that site are very interesting also .

@49er Interesting. Very short demonstration, though. Have you tried it Doug?

I suspect there is a pump, and I guess its hidden in the fluid; thus its opaque color?

I figured it out I think.

At 2:30 in the film you see that container A is empty.

There is an abrupt "cut" in the film, then you see him filling

container A ... but ...

What happens between 2:31 and 2:32 is "edited out"...! Tricky!

He attempts to film it making it like he fills Container A in front of you but if you look close: there is already liquid in it... just enough to hide the pump which is secretly located at the same "height" as the opaque lid itself.

At 2:30 Container A is empty. At 2:32 he is filling it, but it's already got liquid, that he put in, during the cut... is what I am saying...

Note that container A has that lid... its essential to have that extra visible shielding.

Note also that container A, when empty is shown laying down, facing away from you, so you cannot see the pump :)

I say build it and if it does not work let loose kulty on his behind. If it does work though then do it with transparent liquid and post a video response.

not using the easiest available liquid sort of gives it away considering the fountain is all we need to see moving.
