I have built two small trackers so far, but both have been "grounded". Sooner or later I will have to do a Roof mount. I have scratched my head BIG TIME over this.

Simply put...

If a solar tracker costs too much money to build, the design IS WRONG.

This is because you could take that money, buy another panel, mount them fixated, and end up "ahead".

Then again, if you build it so cheap that your panels end up getting damaged, you hardly win, either.

Then I found this video. Check this out.

You wouldn't laugh at my igloo if you knew how cold my beer is!

Wow that is one of the best panel set ups I have seen. It may even hold up to a 100 MPH wind. Very nice. Has he done his tracker yet? Looks Good

Thank you KC for sharing this!

There are some very good, simplistic technique's in use here.

Looking forward to seeing the Tracker system.

Nice setup, KC. I bought a Unisolar flexible panel, it is made of amorpheous cells and is rollable. I made a control box incorporating Li-ion rechargeable batteries in it. The box is of water-proof design. The setup can generate 100W at normal solar days.
